I’ve been there! My own chronic pain led me to seek alternative and natural treatments when I found somatic yoga therapy. I know how frustrating it can be to hear your doctor say, “It’s all in your head,” or try to sell you on medications and surgery, you don’t want. It’s a band-aid over the real problem.
Pain can be debilitating, making it difficult to socialize or participate in activities we love. Pain can create fear of movement and rumination leading to feelings of disappointment and anger. Chronic illness can cause grief, anxiety, and depression. Both persistent pain and chronic illness lead to sleep issues, physical limitations, and low energy.
My chronic pain story began in my late 20’s, due to a high stress lifestyle. As an active duty military spouse; sleep issues, physical pain, inflammation, negativity, rumination, anxiety and depression held me back from living a full life. These emotional challenges led me on a journey towards better health and into the healing power of yoga. Today I am committed to helping others with similar problems on their journey to master their health. Unlike the traditional medical model of health, I love that yoga therapy gives you the opportunity to be in control of your health. Empowering you to take part in the journey of long-term, sustainable change in your life. This individualized, client-centered approach allows me to meet you where you are on your journey and give you encouragement, guidance, and confidence in achieving your health goals.
My Passion
My passion is to empower individuals to take control of their health by offering alternative therapy for pain care, stress management, functional movement, goal setting, and sustainable lifestyle management supported by the teachings of yoga. I believe yoga therapy and the education of pain science is the best way to get back to the life you deserve!
In addition to working one-on-one with clients to become masters of their health, I enjoy teaching wellness retreats and workshops, and enjoy training and mentoring other yoga teachers. Waterfall Yoga Therapy studio space offers private and couples yoga therapy sessions. Each session includes an extra hour of time to meditate at the waterfall. Plus, hike and explore our 20 acres of natural space before heading back into the throes of life.
