Got Pain?
Got pain? How many of us have ignored it continuing to push through the pain to “get her done?” How many of us have thought we must be ill or dying? Or stifled it with booze, food, pills, or some other substance or distraction? In addition, how many of us have given up what we used to love simply because it caused too much pain or complained, but done nothing about it? How many of us are certain our body must hate us?
At some point in my life, I could have raised my hand at all of these ways of dealing with physical/emotional pain. Fortunately, I have learned through my life experience, the teachings of pain care yoga, and though my clients is that it can be really raw and vulnerable to look deeper at the why behind it. Hear from others who have experienced relief by yoga therapy.
Firstly, pain is a protection mechanism. It is there to tell us something is dangerous and we need to stop or change our behavior. Unfortunately, all too often we ignore the warning signs and we don’t even hear it trying to speak to us through tension, tightness, weakness, or imbalance.

Seondly, it is also is changeable. You can learn more about it in my on demand classes. In conclusion, we need to start taking the time to sit in our bodies in stillness and listen. We need patience and endurance if it has been with us awhile. It won’t change overnight.

Meditation
Meditate with me on Insight Timer for pain relief! The #1 Free App for meditation!
This 30-minute healing meditation practice is asking you to slow down and pause to care for yourself. The meditation has you look at the pain for what it is and offer it the tenderness of loving it and opening up enough to let it go. Whether the letting go happens in the form of tears, breath, deep relaxation, or just the simple realization that someone is holding the space for you to feel connected, welcome, and heard. Music provided by Annie Jameson.
