New Home in the Works
According to an incredible book called Chatter by Ethan Kross, trees and grass act like mental vitamins that fuel one’s ability to manage the stresses they face. A study was done with over more than 10,000 people in England over 18 years in which scientists discovered that people reported lower level of distress and higher feelings of well-being when living in urban areas with more green space. Another study in Toronto Canada found that having 10 more trees on a city block associated with improved health that was comparable to an increase of $10,000/year or being 7 years younger! Nature nurtures!
That’s right, the more time we spend outside, or viewing nature outside our windows, whether that be a few trees and a bird feeder or taking a stroll through a green space, the more we feel healthy and well.
