A love note

A love note to my body:

first of all,

I want to say

thank you

for the heart you kept beating

even when it was broken

for every answer you gave me in my gut

for loving me back

even when

I didn’t know how to love you

for every time you recovered when I pushed you past our limits

for today,

for waking up.

What a beautiful reminder of all our body is capable of. The broken hearts, the answers in the gut, for loving us when we don’t love ourselves, for ignoring the body signals and doing it anyway… yes.

We are imperfectly perfect. And as much as we hurt in this human form, physically and emotionally, our body carries us through.

Give your body a big hug of thanks right now. Think of all the ways it’s carried you through to another day. You are worth it. Keep loving it, keep thanking it, every day. You are loved.

Right now sit in your body. Send a love note to your body. Sink into your mind, into your body. Tap into your pulse, the drum of your heart. Set down your grief, your frustrations, your judgement. Connect to your home. A place where we heal. Feel the silence. The life. The rhythm. The flow.
